Class Is In Session: What is CoolSculpting and Why it Works
It understandable that with all the gimmick-based infomercials promising weight-loss and fat reduction that you would actually believe there is a procedure that actually works to reduce body fat, well there is – Meet, CoolSculpting!
CoolSculpting is the only non-invasive and FDA-cleared fat-reduction treatment. While individual results may vary – the safe, innovative procedure reduces stubborn fat through a process called cryolipolysis. Simply put, cooling technology freezes and kills unwanted fat cells. Because fat cells freeze at higher temperatures than surrounding tissues, the CoolSculpting technology can safely deliver precise, controlled cooling to the treated area to gently and effectively target the fat cells underneath the skin. The treated fat cells are crystallized (frozen), and then die. Over time your body naturally processes and expels the dead cells. This gentle, contouring procedure is performed without any anesthetics and without any recovery period. The result? The shape you want without the extra bulge you don’t.
While the process is not painful, it is a bit chilly as the name suggests! Controlled cooling is delivered to the targeted area through a gel pad and an applicator. You may experience intense cold at first, but this typically subsides after a few minutes. During the process you may experience a pulling, tugging, or pinching feeling for several minutes, but typically this sensation fades as you go through the treatment. Within 5-7 minutes you should be comfortable and remain that way for the duration of your session. The procedure itself can take up to 35 minutes, so you’ll have plenty of time to catch up on Netflix while your fat cells chill!
Patience pays when it comes to seeing your results. The end result of the treatment varies for each patient. You may start to see some changes 3 weeks after your treatment, but most people will notice the most dramatic results around 8 weeks. However, your body will continue to flush out fat cells for up to 6 months after the procedure.
Wondering if you are a good candidate? Good candidates for the CoolSculpting procedure have noticeable bulges in targeted areas that they’d like to get rid of. Treatable areas include the submental area (under the chin), thighs, abdomen, flanks, fat along the bra line, back fat, underneath the buttocks, and upper arm. While, CoolSculpting is not a weight-loss solution for people who are obese, it is an excellent option for those looking to sculpt troublesome areas.
All patients require a consultation prior to treatment. During your consultation we will provide information on price based on your customized treatment plan. We look forward to seeing you soon!
